Limitation ready reckoner
An indicative calculation of the outer date for filing, counted from the date you give. It is a reading aid, not advice, and it does not account for exclusions, holidays or condonation.
Indicative last date
Choose a proceeding and a date.
Periods are those in the Schedule to the Limitation Act, 1963, and in the special statutes named.
Time for obtaining a certified copy of the judgment, decree or order is ordinarily excluded under Section 12 of the Limitation Act, so the real last date is usually later than the one shown. Where the last day falls on a court holiday, Section 4 applies. Delay may be condoned under Section 5, and under the proviso to Section 34(3) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act only to the extent of a further thirty days. Nothing here should be relied on in place of the bare Act and the record of your own matter.
The chamber
A chamber at the Rajasthan High Court, Jaipur Bench, and an office at Kailashpuri on Tonk Road.
Work is conducted before the Rajasthan High Court at Jaipur and before the district courts, family courts, commercial courts, tribunals and revenue authorities across the State. Pleadings, applications and written submissions are drafted within the chamber rather than outsourced, and the advocate who drafts a matter ordinarily argues it.
A matter is taken up only after the record is read in full. Where the papers do not support the relief sought, that is said at the outset rather than after institution.
Briefs are accepted directly, and on instructions from advocates practising outside Jaipur who require appearance, filing or mentioning before the Jaipur Bench.
